PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Doc you will receive includes a brief outline (time and materials) for the project and then a 4 page project worksheet packet.

Students should have an understanding of forces, buoyancy, Archimedes' principle, and basic measuring skills (determining grams --> kilograms --> Newtons).

They will design and build a boat. The boat will be tested for durability (how much weight it can hold), as well as its ability to float and move.

You will need lots of pennies for the durability test and a large shallow tote with a fan for the speed testing. The tote will be filled with water and the fan will aim towards it on one end. Students incorporate a sail on their boat.
