If your class studies the Arctic or food webs and food chains, this resource is a great addition to your unit. Students will create a food web full of Arctic producers, herbivores, and carnivores.
Students are given information about which plants and animals are eaten by other animals, and then color code producers, herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores.
The food chain activity is a cut and paste activity that will have students create 3 part food chains based on their food web.
Animals and plants include: algae, lichen, grass, berries, copepods, carp, lemmings, arctic hares, snow geese, caribou, harp seals, ermine, Arctic foxes, Arctic wolves, polar bears, and snowy owls.
If your study of the Arctic includes Alaska, be sure to check out myAlaska and Sled Dog Racing resources!
