Roald Amundsen: Arctic Explorer includes a two-part informational text about the explorer, focusing on his achievements in the Arctic.
Each of the two passages also includes:
--- a vocabulary activity: six “words to watch for” are listed on each text page
--- on the work page for each passage students then match the word with its definition as well as answer comprehension questions and/or terms.
Also included is an organizer to complete (with both factual and opinion questions - students can be instructed to use complete sentences when answering). This could be used for reinforcing information learned or as an assessment.
A full answer key is included.
Please note that the text about Amundsen concentrates on his voyage through the Northwest Passage and not his many other accomplishments!
