This Reader's Theater was designed to get kids practicing the Zeno words. The 107 most used sight words. There are parts for 3 students. There are other words in the script but they are low words - used for 1st through 2nd grade. In the script, A kid and their mom and dad are on a car ride. The kid keeps asking mom and dad if they are there yet. It is making the father mad. They try talking about something else to do but it is not working. The mother tells the kid to play a game and they start asking if they are there yet all over again. This is the game. Finally, mother and father understand just what the game is. At this time they get where they are going.
I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. The lower a student's level, the harder it is to motivate them to practice which is why I have written these lower level scripts. Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place.
My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. If you would like more of these scripts please visit my store! I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
