Use this story as an introduction to an Explorer's unit. What does it take to be an explorer? Students will read about the characteristics of an explorer, then they decide if they display the same characteristics as an explorer. Students will write the word, 'yes' or 'no' on the blank lines of each page.
At the end of the story, the students get to decide what they would want to explore. The ocean, a rain forest, outer space... what would you choose?
