PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Elementary students will find a fun way to write about what they have learned about habitats and the animals that live and thrive there. Using the mentor text Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman, students will write about an animal lost from its habitat. This gives students the chance to explore using voice, and writing using the organizational framework of problems and resolutions. Students will be able to show a rich understanding of habitats and the life that is in each unique one by comparing and contrasting. Many organizational tools are provided in this packet, including jigsaw tools for researching habitats in cooperative groups, teacher and student guides, assessment rubrics, and graphic organizers. Created by Jennifer Lozen.
