Product Description
Use this historical and educational test as a supplement to your curriculum or as a bell-ringer activity.

This 16-page printable packet features an abridged version of the test given to 8th-grade Tennessee students in 1931. Passing the test was mandatory for students to move on to high school.

Included in the test are sections on English, geography, U.S. history, civics, and arithmetic.

Let your students match wits with their counterparts from 1931 (you may want to allow them to use the Internet for research in finding some answers).

Answer keys and URLs of helpful web sites are provided.

This classroom-tested activity is designed for middle school, junior high, high school, and homeschool classes. Created by Susan Thurman.
