This activity provides students with practice finding the area and perimeter of rectangles. Students use dominoes to generate numbers to solve the problems. This is an engaging way to practice the basic concept of finding area and perimeter. It also provides students with practice solving word problems. A recording sheet is provided for students. Since all students answers will be different based on their dominoes, a recording sheet is not available. I've included directions and a helpful tip to differentiate this activity.
This product is aligned to the following state standard:
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
I hope you and your students find this resource engaging and helpful! Please remember to leave feedback!
