Welcome to The Dollar Store, where our goal is to provide you with high-quality, standard specific products, all for the price of only $1.00!
This game is intended to help students learn the differences between perimeter, area, and volume. The volume questions are a simple intro and involve counting unit cubes. The game is intended to meet 4th grade standards or serve as a beginning review at the start of a 5th grade volume unit. Multiple question types are included. The game can be played whole group, or individually as part of centers, etc… See thumbnail images for a preview of game questions and images.
Teacher’s Note: If the wrong answer is provided, the game will end (just like in the real Millionaire Game). In my classroom, I often play whole group (see below) and/or I encourage students to play again until they work through all the problems correctly. (If you dislike the format of the game ending when the wrong answer is given, then this is probably not the game for you!)
Whole Group Play Suggestion: Group students into groups of 3-4 with small white boards & dry erase markers. Students work together to solve the problem, then raise their boards to show the correct answer choice. Groups are awarded 100 points for each correct answer, and 500 points for the last question. I offer silly awards after the game is finished. Have fun!!
