A printable anchor chart and flapbook to use in math interactive notebooks. The flapbook is differentiated for use in multiple classroom levels/settings.
The anchor chart illustrates the difference between area and perimeter in a figure. There are 2 on one page to save paper. Print and allow students to cut on the dotted line and paste into their INB. For added interest, you could print onto construction paper or colored card stock.
There are three different option to choose from. Students cut around the solid line and cut up the middle solid line, stopping at the dotted line. Fold along the dotted line. Glue the top part (area/perimeter heading) into the INB. Students should be able to lift a flap under each heading. Under the flap, students may draw a figure and write an equation.
-Blank: Customizable for your needs. Students will write the definition or description that works best for you in your classroom.
-Fill in the Blank: Students fill in the information missing from the descriptions of are and perimeter.
-Complete: Complete description of area and perimeter as used at a 3rd grade level.
