Area and Perimeter 4th grade common core. This power point covers everything your students will need to know about area and perimeter with the 4th grade common core standards! It covers the following common core standard and adds in higher order thinking in real life problem solving situations.
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
Fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
This PPT has 64 slides in it and 2 separate lessons (two lesson plans are included)
The powerpoint is full of formative assessments covering the 4th grade CCSS's and quickly reviewing the 3rd grade standards wherever it will help the students in their growth for these concepts.
