There are two bow-ties total in this document, which will provide for 2 days of this activity.
This is a really fun activity that promotes engagement in Mathematics. Students will work on the bowties facing "back-to-back." After both partners complete each bowtie, they will turn around and check their answers with each other. If the answer match, they will write them on the coordinating space in the center of the bowtie. If the answers don't match, they will need to work together to determine the discrepancy and correct answer.
Grading is also easy! You simply need to look at the center of the bow-tie for the correct answer and then you have a grade for both students. I have included a rubric on the bowties to help promote student-to-student interaction and completion.
This bow-tie in particular focuses on area and perimeter review. If you like them, I plan to bundle all the bow-tie resources I made this year together, as I have several for multiplication, division, and so on!
