Non-Holiday Project here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Area-and-Perimeter-Design-a-House-Project-1140435
Looking for a creative way to test your students' skills on perimeter and area? Well, if you are ready to get a little festive, here is a great project for you!
In this project, students are told that they will be designing, planning, and constructing a house for Mr. Ginge R. Bread. He has certain specifications that they must meet for their house to get his seal of approval. Students are asked to create blueprints on graph paper with their area and perimeter (of the house, and the yard/fence), an exterior sketch of their house, a materials list, and their evaluation rubric. There are many ideas in this project on how to integrate it or use it in different ways (different materials, in class, out of class, etc...!)
Student Information Sheet (2 versions: inches and centimeters)
Evaluation Sheet (for teacher)
Ideas and Notes about project and different uses!
I hope you have loads of fun with this project as the holidays (and your students) are winding up!
I hope you enjoy this item. If you have any questions, concerns or ideas for custom work, please contact me! Thanks and stop by again soon!
