### Description

Take your next area and perimeter lesson to the next level with these DIFFERENTIATED area and perimeter skills flipbooks. Your students will absolutely love these engaging area, perimeter, and volume lessons, and you will love the teaching, skill reinforcement, and engaging practice these flipbooks provide.

Differentiation is easy with TWO versions:

➡️ Introductory Area and Perimeter is perfect for 3rd grade and 4th grade review

These area and perimeter flipbooks provide students with a rigorous and engaging review of the following area and perimeter skills and strategies:

Flipbook One (Introductory, 8 pages):

• Calculating the area of a rectangle (using units squared, standard, and metric units)

• Calculating the perimeter of a polygon (using standard and metric units)
• Calculating the area of a rectangle (using standard and metric units)
• Calculating volume (using cubic units, standard, and metric units)
• Perimeter of irregular shapes

Three Low-Prep and No-Prep Options!

This resource comes in three versions, you can choose the one that works best for your class!

• Flipbook with tabs: Print double-sided and cut tabs.
• Full page with NO tabs: Just print and go!
• Digital on Google Slides (Full Color)

How do these area and perimeter flipbooks work?

Each flipbook acts as a mini area and perimeter interactive notebook, ready for your math lesson! The left hand side of each skill helps to TEACH the focus skill, acting as a mini anchor chart that students interact with and complete. On the right hand side, students engage in practicing their area, perimeter, and volume skills in multiple different ways.

The final section, ‘Put it All Together’ asks students to synthesize all skills in an engaging review of everything they have learned!

How can I use this in my area and perimeter lesson?

I suggest using the flipbook as you teach OR review each of these skills. It is a great visual guide for students learning these important area, perimeter, and volume concepts and something that students can refer back to week after week. It is also ideal for an end of unit review or nightly homework during your measurement unit.

Recognize area as an attribute of plane figures and understand concepts of area measurement.
A square with side length 1 unit, called “a unit square,” is said to have “one square unit” of area, and can be used to measure area.
A plane figure which can be covered without gaps or overlaps by 𝘯 unit squares is said to have an area of 𝘯 square units.
Measure areas by counting unit squares (square cm, square m, square in, square ft, and improvised units).
Relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.
