Give you students ample time to practice calculating the area and perimeter of basic shapes with this powerpoint activity. A total of ten problems ask students to calculate area, perimeter, or a missing side length on a variety of basic 2D shapes.
Use this presentation in a number of ways. The PPT could be displayed on a projector for use during guided practice. The slides could also be printed and distributed as independent practice or assessment. Finally, consider them for math stations, allowing students to practice at their own pace.
The types of questions in the set include
--calculate the perimeter of triangles, trapezoids, or rectangles
--calculate a missing side given the perimeter
--calculate the are of rectangles and squares
--calculate a missing side given the area
**Note: Most of these problems include decimal numbers. However, the document is fully editable if you would like to adjust the problems to meet the needs of your students.
