The following is a set of task cards or stations that focus on area and perimeter. The following product -

- Contains 6 cards or 6 stations

- Card #1 - Determine the Area

- Card #2- Determine the Perimeter

- Card #3 - Determine the Area

- Card #4 - Determine the Perimeter

- Card #5 - Determine the Area

- Card #6 - Determine the Perimeter

- Each card contains 2 worksheets. This gives you a total of 12 worksheets.

- Each cards contains 6 questions. This gives you a total of 72 questions

-The cards contain a variety of models, so that students are able to master the concept of area of perimeter regardless of how it is presented to them in an activity or test.

-Great to use for small group stations, review, gallery walk, intervention or test prep.

Suggestions on how to use cards

Option #1

1.Print and laminate cards.

2.Place each card in a station.

3.Have students rotate through the stations as a way to review angles.

Option #2

1.Print and laminate cards and place cards in a folder with sheet protectors and place in small group station. (Or hole punch cards and hold cards together with a ring as shown in the preview picture)

2.Make enough folders so that each students in a group will have a folder.

3.Have students complete 1-2 cards as a day as they rotate through math stations. (This station should last 1-2 weeks and can save you prep station time!!!)

Option #3

1.Print and laminate cards.

2.Use cards as an intervention station.

3.Work with students to complete cards.

TEKS 4.5C (Supporting Standard) - The student is expected to use models to determine the formulas for the perimeter of a rectangle (l+w+l+w or 2l+2w), including the special form for perimeter of a square (4s) and the area of a rectangle (l x w).

TEKS 4.5D (Readiness Standard) - solve problems related to perimeter and area of rectangles where dimensions are whole number
