Six pages of problems about area and perimeter at Kauffmann Stadium and A T & T Park. They involve calculating perimeter by adding all sides and by finding unknown sides. Same with area, given the total area of the ballpark and finding the area of the outfield since the area of the infield can be calculated. Fifth grade students even calculate the acreage of the two parks.
There are 30 problems in all: 8 for Grade 3, 10 for Grade 4, and 12 for Grade 5. There is some overlap of problems between grade levels. Some explanation of baseball terminology might be required.
