Area and Perimeter of Rectangles Activity and Task Cards provides challenging activities for students to practice finding the area and perimeter of rectangles.
The first activity includes 9 problems in which the students need to complete such problems as:
Draw two different rectangles with an area of 12.
Draw a rectangle with an area of 40 square units and a perimeter of 26 units.
The second activity includes 24 Area and Perimeter Task Cards. These cards each contain a problem in which students need to solve area and perimeter problems such as:
(1) Jada is making a display board for the school talent show. The display board is a 10 ft by 9 ft rectangle. If ribbon costs $2 per foot, how much will it cost to add a ribbon border around the entire display board?
(2) The area of a rectangular field is 68 ft squared and its width is 4 ft. Find the perimeter of the field.
Answer keys are included for both.
Area and Perimeter of Rectangles Activity and Task Cards meets or exceeds the Common Core Standards of Mathematics.
