PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Power Point is intended for high 2nd graders, 3rd grade core, and remediation for 4th graders.

*****This is the Power Point that I use in the very beginning (3rd graders) to teach Area, since it is so easily related to multiplication.

Using Power Points to teach new concepts or even as a review for a test can be a very powerful teaching tool. Kids stay very attentive and enjoy participating.
________________________________________________________

I have separated this Power Point is into 3 parts:

*****Part 1—teacher instruction and introduction
*****Part 2 – group participation and discovery
*****Part 3 – student individual practice.
________________________________________________________

I have also included slides that give the definition of area and an “I Can Statement.”

In my class the kids love to count out loud (in unison) the square units as each of the numbers come up inside of the rectangles.

There are two other power points that I use to teach area and they will be in my store soon. They guide you all the way through finding area with the algorithm of L x W.

Hope you enjoy,
Carole (eyelove2create)
