Foldable notes for circles, including circumference, area of circles, and other topics (composite figures and working backwards). The foldables are perfect for interactive notebooks, without having to take tons of times for cutting, folding and gluing. Just two folds and your class is ready for note-taking! In addition to the three foldables, there are also three worksheets included in this resource.
Two of the foldables folds into a “book”, with a cover and 6 mini-pages. The other foldable is a slightly different style, but still just two quick folds and your class is ready to learn.
The pages in the circumference foldable include the following topics: introduction of radius and diameter vocabulary; practice identifying radius and diameter segments; introduction of the vocabulary of circumference, as well as estimation practice; introduction of pi and the formula for circumference; examples of how to find circumference (one example each using 3.14, 22/7 and expressing answers in terms of pi); looks at the impact of rounding pi to different place values on the answer.
The pages in the area and circumference foldable focus on the following topics: notes about the formula for area of a circle; practice problems for area of a circle; finding both area and circumference of the same circle; apply area and circumference to real-world situations; students look at a single situation and analyze what the area and circumference would mean in that situation; students “grade” a paper about area and circumference and write a note about the errors that they notice.
The pages in the composite figures and working backwards foldable focus on the following topics: example notes and practice questions on composite figures; notes about how to work backwards and find the diameter if you know the circumference; practice questions working backwards.
