Area of Rectangles, Parallelograms, and Triangles Lesson
In this lesson, students will use the area formulas to find the area of rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles. Students will solve problems using diagrams and word problems.
• Warm-Up -
The warm-up is an algebra review. There are two problems where students must multiply fractions and two problems where students must simplify radical expressions.
• Guided Notes -
Three versions are included: mostly complete, fill-in-the-blank, and a version with more writing space. The notes are 2 pages long (the version with extra room is 3 pages). Examples are included throughout.
• In-Class Practice Worksheets -
Two additional worksheets are included for in-class practice. One of the worksheets is more difficult than the other and is titled "Challenge Worksheet".
• Homework -
The homework is 2 pages and 12 questions.
• Answer Keys -
Completely worked out answer keys are included.
