3 worksheets for the difference between the area of a triangle and the area of a parallelogram. I found these were the two confused most often with my students, so I wanted to address them specifically.
The first worksheet is a cut and paste sort based on the formula for the area and then they solve for the area.
The second sheet is find the area and then matching it to the correct area on the page. I intentionally gave one that could be miscalculated if the student forgot to take half the base times the height for the triangle.
The third has the students find the area of quadrilaterals and then the triangles. The students will then match the two triangles to the quadrilateral with the matching area to show that each triangle is half the area of the quadrilateral.
