This product works well as a transition from AREA to PERIMETER (or perimeter to area) because it calls for a comparison. It introduces learners to the differences between these two concepts (as applied in real life), and offers them guidelines on how to distinguish between the two.
Students DO NOT perform calculations. Instead, they look for clues and determine if the situations call for area or perimeter. In total, there are 20 different situations for students to explore.
This product can be presented in two ways: as a PowerPoint presentation OR as Task Cards. A review worksheet and recording sheet is included with answers.
It is Common Core aligned, and comes in both Imperial and Metric versions for those who teach abroad.
