PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This paper is designed to be a research-driven paper where students apply their understanding of gender issues to form an original thesis regarding the depictions of men and women in various Disney films of the students' choosing.

My students love this paper! It gives them a chance to take something very familiar to them and look at it through a completely difference lens of interpretations.

There are some fabulous articles and essays I use to springboard the students' research, namely Judy Brady's "Why I want a Wife", Deborah Tannen's "There is No Unmarked Woman", Scott Russel Sanders "The Men We Carry in Our Minds", and Stephanie Hanes' "Little Girls or Little Women? The Disney Princess Effect"
