This is an easy 2- sided article that has a pro-side for self- driving cars and a con-side for self-driving cars.
This has 4 activities to go with it:
1. Scavenger Hunt: This is a close read assignment designed to pick out important words and points by making it into a scavenger hunt.
2. Support the Quote: This activity examines both the pro and the con side of argumentation and how to counter the points or support the argument using quotes from the text.
3. Analyzing Persuasive Appeals: This activity is scaffolded into three parts, a matching the definition to the appeal portion, a matching the type of appeal to the name of the persuasive appeal and identifying the different appeals in the texts.
4. Vocabulary- This type of vocabulary allows students to see the definition and use it in a sentence of their own.
This is a great activity for argumentation, persuasive techniques and supporting arguments with quotes from the text. It is also an interesting read for students who want to know about the future of vehicles.
