This graphic organizer is a terrific way to guide students through the writing process of an argumentative essay. This organizer breaks down each paragraph of an argumentative essay, as well as further breaks down the parts of each paragraph. In each box you will find space for the student to write down parts of an argumentative essay such as the intro paragraph box (hook, explanation of issue, and thesis statement), or the body paragraph #1 box (topic sentence, explanation, evidence, analysis of evidence), etc. Each box also has sentence starters (also known as transition words and phrases) to remind the students to use transitions between paragraphs!
My students were struggling with how to write an argumentative essay, and had difficulties remembering all of the parts of each paragraph, so I made this to help them! This was such an awesome tool to have, and it truly helped my students master the skill of writing this type of essay. I hope it helps you and your students as well!
