This folder contains a number of different resources to assist students in argumentative essay writing. First, students will view videos and read an article on Social Networking. After gathering evidence on the pros and cons of social networking, students will make a claim. Teachers can use the three PowerPoint Presentations to guide students as they write their introductory and body paragraphs. Information in these slides includes: thesis statement, evidence, opposing view and rebuttal, and transitional words and phrases. In addition, students are provided with visuals of what each paragraph should contain, along with sample paragraphs to refer to. Finally, students can refer to the Argumentative Essay Checklist to be sure that they have included all components of an argument.
