The article explains the controversy regarding the sale of furniture from the governor's mansion to O'Malley at a steeply discounted price. Students will analyze the article and relate the content of the article to the principles of Democracy. In particular, students will focus on the concepts of Transparency, Control of the Abuse of Power, and Rule of Law. Students then will complete a short writing assignment that asks them to tie all of the concepts together. Provides a grading rubric.
