Do you need a way to assess whether students understand the concepts and terminology involved with writing an argumentative research paper? In addition to assessing their essay itself, I always give a supplementary test that asks point-blank questions about the important takeaways from the unit.
This resource is perfect for the end of an argumentative writing unit and asks students to showcase what they have learned that they might not have directly demonstrated in their paper. The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions, and a key is included. The test is completely editable in PPT so that you can adapt it to fit your language and needs.
The test contains an example essay about digital detoxes for students to refer to as they answer questions.
Additionally, you will find the graphic organizers I use to help students remember the essential components of argumentative writing paragraphs. These elements are referred to on the test.
Finally, you'll find an essay structure review sheet to use before the test.
This resource is designed for junior high and high school students.
THIS RESOURCE IS ALSO INCLUDED IN A LARGER ARGUMENTATIVE WRITING BUNDLE FOR GRADES 7-12.
The test included in this resource was created along with many of the materials in this larger bundle.
