In this activity, students match arithmetic sequences with their formulas. Formulas are in functions notation and subscript notation. Questions follow asking for a certain term in a sequence.
This activity can be used as a handout for practice or a cut and paste card sort. I have also used it as a math center to give students extra practice with sequences.
In the download, you will receive a PDF of the one-page matching sheet and the answer key.
This matching activity builds toward the following common core standard: CCSS.Math.Content.HSF.BF.A.2
Write arithmetic and geometric sequences both recursively and with an explicit formula, use them to model situations, and translate between the two forms.
