In this scavenger hunt, there are 8 problems for students to complete. These 8 problems will help students to practice working with arithmetic sequences. Students should be able to work with the formula for finding the nth term of an arithmetic sequence (an = a1 + (n-1)d) and the formula for finding the sum of a finite arithmetic sequence (Sn=n/2(a1+an)).
The teacher should post these 8 cards randomly around the room. Students can start at any card. They work that problem and then look around the room to find the answer. Then they work the problem on that card and so on. Students should end where they began.
I have included a recording sheet so students can show their work and record their answers.
