ARMADILLO FACTS, READING, WRITING AND CRAFT:
Expository/Informational Activities That Engage Kids
This resource includes opportunities for differentiating and making learning a hands-on experience.
Making books, a reader's theater, and an armadillo craft make it a fun unit!
*You'll find that this resource may be a great accompaniment and supplement to the following books: Armadillo Rodeo, by Jan Brett and Lynne Cherry's The Armadillo From Amarillo.
This unit offers a variety of opportunities for learning facts about an armadillo's habitat, what it eats, and how it protects itself, and follows up with a life-sized armadillo paper craft!
All you do is provide the books you want to use in addition to this resource. Between bookmaking and readers' theater script, there are lots of opportunities to differentiate learning.
There are two mini books: a writing/report book, and an origami book. The fact cards included add information so that your students can fill out the report book.
