This bundle contains two handouts and daily letters from the general as part of a larger EOY Boot Camp Unit
Part 1 integrates both Science and Math topics as students are asked to use their knowledge of local weather patterns and terrain to make purchases for the soldiers.
There is no answer key included because this assignment is meant to measure critical thinking skills and persuasion, meaning a variety of answers could be accepted.
Teachers will need to make individual copies of the recording sheet for all students. This sheet includes the directions, price chart and all necessary information
To differentiate, there is also a “Supply Store Specials” paper including percentages and fractions for students to work with and/or consider in their purchases
Part 2 includes two student pages, a personal letter from the general as well as an activity page. This “Supply List” requires students to analyze incorrect intel given to solve for the correct answers. For a challenge, early finishers can try to figure out where the mistakes were made by the enemy general.
Students are given 5 different purchasing scenarios and are asked to use their knowledge of the multiplication of fractions to correctly solve in order to gain information in the enemy’s supply mishaps (Are they short on food? Inappropriately dressed? Inadequately prepared? etc.)
