This is a template for patterns which has the student solving 3 patterns and then leaves room for the student to create their own pattern. On the back of the sheet, each student will add the answer and the rule for their pattern.
The way I lead this class is to have students solve 3 and create 1 pattern. Then they move around the classroom solving the patterns of their classmates. You can make it a competition too by challenging them to solve as many patterns as they can (or getting as far around the room) in a given time.
Included is a page of suggested sequences broken into operation and type.
