PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Periodic Table activity is an analogy to the construction of Mendeleev's Periodic Table. It has been cited in Brooks and Brooks, "The Case for the Constructivist Classroom" as an excellent example of constructivist education. Instead of being presented with a prearranged table, students are asked to arrange books in a bookcase using rules that are analogous to the Periodic Table. When complete, students are able to understand and explain the actual arrangement of elements in the Periodic Table.
