Learn ABC's by Hand Writing with Visual Art Examples (K-3. ESL) 26 pages
You will download a ZIP file with 26 JPG pages.
If you need a different format, please convo me or convert files at zamzar.com
Each page is basically laid out the same.
The ABC letters are in a box with space underneath for writing.
Students can also trace the letters.
There are also two sets of writing lines to the right.
Below the writing area, is a place for very easy vocabulary and art words. Each word is printed, and illustrated by 3 famous art works.
(with one exception)
For the teacher's information, the artist's name is printed by the art work.
To the right of each art work is a large empty box. Students can write or draw in the box, so this is an "open ended" activity. The teacher will want to talk about each word and explain how it relates to the painting. Some are art vocabulary words and some are easy elementary sight words.
The hardest word is "zoomorphic." Students will catch on if you emphasize the "zoo" which they all know. It is making objects with animal like qualities.
Please convo me with any questions. For any printing or technical problems, contact TPT help.
I am citing "Fair Use" in education, for the art works of living artists. For students to understand the ABC's, each vocabulary word is illustrated by a picture or art work. This helps enhance their understanding of the letters and build a visual frame of reference for their ABC knowledge base.
Students can also practice writing on the back of the pages. This is created so you can keep all the pages in a separate folder for each student, and at the end of the ABC's bind them together into a very special journal/sketchbook.
