This is a printable art activity worksheet broken into the classic art criticism categories: "describe", "analyze", interpret" and "judgement" that I use for my students to keenly observe The Mona Lisa as if they are an "Art Critic". After giving them time to respond to the questions, we view the painting together, discuss Leonardo da Vinci's place and contributions in art history and we dig deeper into the fascination of the famous Mona Lisa. Some students change their minds about their initial answers after our discussion!
This is a great art appreciation and history activity for middle school. I also use it for my beginning high school art students.
