In this activity, students will click on a button and a question about the artwork will appear. There are 27 buttons and 27 different questions, The questions cover all of the elements and principals of design along with other critical thinking.
This product is editable!
The questions can be modified by the user by unlocking the text box and typing in different questions. So you can create new activities with a different focus, such as all questions about a particular artist. The great thing about the questions I've included is that they could be used with any work of art.
I've included a visual aid for the questions about warm/cool colors, value, form and symmetry. You'll see some examples of what I mean in the thumbnail shots. Most questions are just straight questions without visual aids.
In the first thumbnail, you see a screen shot of the activity in the mode you would use to edit it. When you select the full screen you will only see the buttons. After the student answers the question, the orange button will take you back to the button selection page.
You must provide your own reproduction or work of art to talk about. This activity just asks the question.
Some sample questions are:
• Do you think the artist was more concerned about emotion or realism?
• What is the subject matter of this picture?
• Where in this artwork is the value the darkest?
This can be done with a SMART board, a slate or tablet, or just using a computer. The image could be projected to use with a whole class or used as an individual activity or center. This is a Notebook file. Please make sure that you have access to Notebook software before purchasing.
I received this feedback from a customer:
It worked very easily with the Promethean Board. I saved the file to my desktop and then opened Activinspire program. I clicked on File>Import>Notebook File and then found the file and opened it right up.
