This is a printable worksheet to teach value scales for a drawing unit.
I have them do this at the start of the unit - after we look at contour drawings - because it helps them learn the art of shading with pencils.
There's a mini rubric included as well, to make marking easy and quick.
(NOTE - gray wash just means the first box is lightly shaded gray, I teach them to do this as their first step of any drawing project).
After they complete this, I get them to tape it into their sketchbooks so that it can be easily removed.
This helps them - because when they're drawing, if you put this beside their source image/drawing, they see how they have to do darker/lighter.
Hope it helps!
