This is a really simple, but really important handout for senior grade art students who are creating any type of drawings.
I always use this as part of any drawing unit I do - so students understand key tips about observational drawings - including still-life, portraits, etc.
Included are 10 key tips for any drawing being done from observation.
The # 1 tip is "LOOK at what you're drawing" and it includes other tips about:
-drawing from real objects, not tracing, use lots of value, proportions, composition etc.
For each tip, there's an image to help students understand it better.
Hope this helps!
TIP - I have students divide their sketchbooks into two sections - the front part is for their drawings and sketches, the back part is for their notes. I would single-side (not double sided) copy this, and have them use doublt-sided tape to paste it into the BACK of their sketchbooks.
