Art is ... Color Matching Cards with Famous Artwork (6 pages) ELL/ESL
You will receive 2 files of jpg pictures. One file has the 6 color cards (8.5" x 11"), and one file has the individual matching cards that you will have to cut out. (about 3.75" x 5 ")
The students are given the large one color card of famous artwork of a specific color. One box is blank, which is where they put the matching Balloon Dog Sculpture. Ex. the Blue Color Balloon Dog is the match for the BLUE artwork Card. The Balloon Dog cards are just slightly smaller than the blank space.
This would also work with older students.
1. Have them match with the "Opposite" color
2. Match with an "analogous" color
3. After matching colors, arrange cards in primary and secondary groups of 3.
4. Arrange matched cards as a color wheel on a table.
This CARDS would be great printed on white cardstock!
Artists you will see represented are Chagall, Kehinde, Klee, Koons, Matisse, Monet, Van Gogh, and more! The Balloon Dogs are contemporary sculptures by Jeff Koons.
Any artwork reproductions are used in compliance with FAIR USE in education. Students can not learn colors in artwork, without seeing actual visual representation. This will enhance their learning in the classroom and visual literacy.
