Art is ... Texture Matching Cards with Plants, Animals, More (14 pages) K-3 ELL/ESL

You will download 14 jpgs. in this file. This is a matching game of different textures that uses boards with cut out matching cards. Pictures are used for photographic examples.

You may want to copy each jpg onto white card stock, so the game can be more durable and used by many students. Students can work alone, in pairs or small groups to match the textures.

(For Memory, you will want two copies of each page, including the match cards. For class inspiration, hand out a card to each child and have them create using their "Texture Card" as creative inspiration.

You will receive:
1. 10 pages of Texture Boards to cut out
2. 3 Pages of Matching Cards to print and cut out. One matching card corresponds to one Texture Board. Note: That sometimes a card may match more than one texture board.
3. 1 Blank Template for your use

Textures represented are:
1. bumpy
2. furry
3. prickly
4. rough
5. scaly
6. sharp
7. slimy
8. smooth
9. soft
10. sticky

Matching Cards
1. bumpy - Green Osage Orange
2. furry - Sheepdog
3. prickly- Echidna
4. rough - lava
5. scaly- snake
6. sharp- pencils
7. slimey- Blobfish
8. smooth- pebbles
9. sticky- Post-it Note
10. soft - Peonies
