Product Description
Art Escape: Mona Lisa (Grammar Edition) -- Escape room style challenge with a creative, artful twist! Learning is about to get really fun--this resource combines puzzles, learning, ELA, and collaborative art! The lesson begins when students learn about an art heist. As art detectives, they’ll need to work together to solve 5 creative grammar-based challenges. Each challenge will have them learning more and more of the history of the stolen piece of art while practicing critical ELA skills. If they can crack the case, they just might get their hands on the masterpiece!

This resource is part of an Art Escape BUNDLE: Grammar Edition

Here’s how it works
1. Prepare materials (everything is included except the basic art materials – markers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, glue and tape).
2. Designate a table or desk for the Detective Agency Headquarters. (This is where students will check-in for their clues, get their reward (a piece of the masterpiece collaborative poster) and receive new challenges.)
3. Have students make their Detective Notebooks.
4. Break students into groups of 3 or 4 students (6 total groups is ideal).
5. Review the Crime Bulletin (which describes the heist) with the class or within the groups.
6. Give the groups their first challenge packet. Students will need to complete the challenge and fill in their detective notebooks before checking in at the headquarters for their next clue.
7. The groups will work through 5 challenges.
8. After completing each challenge, their reward will be one page of the masterpiece.
9. When all groups have finished the challenges, colored in their reward pieces, and assembled them, they will have worked together to creat an actual-size poster of the stolen masterpiece (the Mona Lisa) for display in the classroom.
10. When the entire mission has been completed, give students the award page (designed as a single coloring page for students to color and keep as a remembrance of the project).
