Every year we take our students on a sketching/drawing field trip downtown.
It's after our first unit on observational drawings (includes contour drawings, value shading etc).
They bring their sketchbooks with them, and we take them on an adventure :)
This would work with any interesting location you want to take them to - we sometimes do parks as well.
This pamphlet helps both students and parents see what the trip is all about.
This is a generic info pamphlet for a sketching trip that you can EDIT to fit your needs.
It includes these sections:
-an itinerary that's broken down with tasks
-what to bring?
-a history of the location
-their assignment (includes observational drawings/thumbnails)
-a fun drawing challenge
Hope it helps!
Field trips are key to making lasting memories with students.
NOTE - I've made it so that everything you see in red can be easily changed for your specific trip.
