The first day of school always involves handing out many sheets of paper, that inevitably get lost in the bottomless pits of student backpacks. By adding a bright color, visual art reference, or other eye catching flair, students are more liking to notice, and keep up with these important documents.
I have used this syllabus template the last six years. With minor tweaking I use it in every class from Introduction to art to 3D Design to Advanced Drawing and Painting. It is clear, explains my goals and expectations, and requires a parent signature and contact information.
This comes with a two page Microsoft .DOCX document. It is fully editable, it currently has mock information filled in for teacher contact, classroom, and class title. The information in the syllabus applies to a general art or Introduction to Art class, but is easy to adapt to any level.
