Art is ... The Turkey Variation (A new twist on an old turkey) 3 Pages
Children of all ages love making the turkey from tracing their hand.
This worksheet, adds a twist.
This downloadable sheet is "The DIrections" only. Younger students will need teacher guidance. (You won't have to print this for students, unless you want copies for your older students who can work independently.
This involves flipping the paper twice, so younger students will need help by marking the Top with a "T" and the Bottom with a "B."
Step 1: Trace your hand in lower left (on half the paper)
Step 2: Flip
Step 3. Trace only 4 fingers and palm in lower left.
Step 4. Flip
Step 5. Draw your turkey
Step 6: Make the top 4 fingers into "YOU"
Note on Step 7, students are to add their own creations for the farm or barnyard: tractor, wheelbarrow, dogs, cats, chickens, more turkeys, fences, tree, hay, corn...Let them be creative!
And don't forget:
Step 8, to SIGN their name!
Page 2, is an example to show you what steps 1-4 look like.
Page 3, is ideas for Hand Animals as in Extensions.
Extensions: Challenge your students to make other animals and creatures by tracing their hands. (Octopus, Dog, Cat, Cow, Caterpillar and others!)
This should be a bit different, more creative and lots of fun!
