PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This PowerPoint presentation is a continuation of the previous PowerPoints on my site. In this particular presentation, the movements of Realism, Impressionism, and Post Impressionism are covered in detail.

The 1848 French Revolution is the backdrop for Realism as an artistic movement and so the students are asked at the end to continue their own research. This is of course optional for you.

The Realism movement deals exclusively with French artists, as does Impressionism with the exception of Mary Cassatt. The Post Impressionistic movement begins with a look at Van Gogh and his progression as an artist from "The Potato Eaters" to "Starry Night." It then continues with other notable Post Impressionist artists such as Paul Gauguin, Paul Cézanne and Seurat.
