Welcome to Art Bursts! A simple way to incorporate art into the classroom. Students will observe, discuss, and create! These lessons can be taught by a classroom teacher, substitute teacher, parent or volunteer. Basic art supplies and easy instructions make these successful in any classroom! Be prepared for engaging discussion and enthusiastic art!
This lesson includes a power point presentation with the following:
-An overview of the highlighted artist
-An art word of the day
-A digital image of the painting
-Thought provoking discussion questions
-Guidelines for a simple art project
Art materials needed:
crayons or colored pencils
Your students will delight in discussing this painting. The lessons are simply presented yet engage students' critical thinking skills and encourage original ideas through discussion and art. The activity can be completed in 40 minutes or less. Art Bursts can be used as an interdisciplinary tool by using the children's art as a writing prompt.
