9 pages of a complete lesson plan with full color handouts with vocabulary lists, detailed directions, project example, shading techniques practices and a preliminary planning form.
This is a lesson I have used for years as an introduction to my middle school drawing unit. This is step by step lesson that first starts with an introduction to The Elements & Principles of design (or review) with a discussion on how Diego Rivera used them in his art (his painting image is not provided but can be found on wikki art). The lesson then proceeds on to creating an initial design with the use of the Elements and Principles of Design. Different techniques and mediums will be applied to the design as a practice for a final drawing composition. Hand outs are labeled for Art 8 but this lesson can be used for grades 6-9 as a practice lesson or a final.
