Need a beautiful project that honors the American Flag? How about a project for Flag Day, President's Day, the Fourth of July, or Veteran's Day? If so, your students will absolutely love creating their personal American flag inspired by the artist, Peter Max. Students will enjoy using bold bright colors of tempera paint splashed on paper, along with adding fun patterns that turn these flags into beautiful masterpieces.
This lesson is designed for students to create a large flag painting and allows children to experiment with tempera paints and brushstrokes. The lesson contains simple steps to follow and bright visuals for inspiration. Also, you will find a beautiful gallery containing examples of my students' artwork.
This lesson is perfect for a Patriotic holiday or any lesson that incorporates the study of the United States flag.
